Molecular Ecophysiology of Stressed plant "EcophyS" Team - iEES Paris

Google traduction de la version française

The Molecular Ecophysiology of the plant under stress (EcoPhyS) team is studying the responses of plants to environmental constraints by developing an integrative approach to the study of the response to environmental constraints, of plants whole (gas exchange, biomass production, yield) down to the cellular and molecular scales (signaling, oxidative stress, membrane lipids, proteolysis).

These constraints can be biotic (insects, fungi, bacteria, soil engineers) or abiotic (temperature, light, availability of water, minerals, soil and air pollution).
The ability to respond to these constraints is a major determinant of the ecosystem services provided by plants and their distribution from the local scale to that of the globe.

In this context, we seek to develop an integrative approach to the study of the response to environmental constraints, from the whole plant (gas exchange, production of biomass, yield) to the cellular and molecular scales (signaling, stress oxidant, membrane lipids, proteolysis).

We also contribute to the development of biological engineering strategies applied to the environmental sciences (phytoremediation, biomonitoring, cellular biomarkers).

To meet the objectives set, we are carrying out field experiments and under controlled conditions for various plant models, model plants (Arabidopsis, tobacco, Brachypodium distachyon) and field crops (wheat, corn, beans), as well as experimental systems associating plants and micro / macrofauna of the soil.
Our approaches mainly integrate methods and knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry and ecophysiology.
