L’équipe Ecophysiologie moléculaire de la plante sous stress (EcoPhyS) s’attache à étudier les réponses des plantes aux contraintes de l’environnement en développant une approche intégrative de l’étude de la réponse aux contraintes de l’environnement, de la plante entière (échanges gazeux, production de biomasse, rendement) jusqu’aux échelles cellulaire et moléculaire (signalisation, stress oxydant, lipides membranaires, protéolyse).
Ces contraintes peuvent être de nature biotique (insectes, champignons, bactéries, ingénieurs du sol) ou abiotique (température, lumière, disponibilité en eau, en minéraux, pollution du sol et l’air).
La capacité à répondre à ces contraintes est un déterminant majeur des services écosystémiques rendus par les plantes et de leur répartition de l’échelle locale à celle du globe.
Dans ce contexte, nous cherchons à développer une approche intégrative de l’étude de la réponse aux contraintes de l’environnement, de la plante entière (échanges gazeux, production de biomasse, rendement) jusqu’aux échelles cellulaire et moléculaire (signalisation, stress oxydant, lipides membranaires, protéolyse).
Par ailleurs, nous contribuons au développement de stratégies d’ingénierie biologique appliquées aux sciences de l’environnement (phytoremédiation, biosurveillance, biomarqueurs cellulaires).
Pour répondre aux objectifs fixés, nous mettons en œuvre des expérimentations au champ et en conditions contrôlées pour des modèles végétaux variés, plantes modèles (Arabidopsis, tabac, Brachypodium distachyon) et espèces de grande culture (blé, maïs, haricot), ainsi que des systèmes expérimentaux associant plantes et micro/macrofaune du sol.
Nos approches intègrent principalement des méthodes et connaissances de biologie moléculaire, de biochimie et d’écophysiologie.
